What Tui has to say about Reading Theory:

  • It encourages me to read at night every night
  • It is really fun
  • I learn lots of different types of stuff like about underwater, butterflies and nature and heaps more topics. I love them!
  • When you read them and find tricky words I like putting the words in my spelling book to practise
  • The questions are really challenging because sometimes I have to go back and forth to the passage
  • I have to read the questions carefully
  • It is fun to move up the levels
  • The levels are challenging for me. Once I go along them they get harder for me. I haven't gone down the levels yet and I am not going to!!!
  • Kate, Lydia and I always talk about Reading Theory

Thank you Tui for your reflective comments about our new reading site.

Bean Bag Challenge

We needed to think:
-how high to throw the beanbag
-about more than ourselves!
-how we have our hands ready to catch
-about what type of throw would be best for the task
-about timing (once the middle person has released the first bean bag, throw yours to them straight away)

We needed to communicate:
-perhaps count them in
-ideas of how to throw, stand, distance, catch
-planning and making decisions first
-helping each other, encouraging

We needed to use our movement skills:
-arrange your body ready to catch (move your arms, hips to the side)
-quick hands
-twist/swing movement

Quarter Finals down, Semifinals here we come!

Beep, beep beep! I panicked, was I late for school?! Phew, it was  Sunday. The big day ... the day the All Blacks played France in the RWC quarter finals. I kicked my sheets off me and jumped out of bed.
Running down the hallway like I was running on the field, I was ready to support my country.

Let's see whose writing will be published on the blog to finish our story...

(Mikaela's) Rushing into mum and dad's room to wake them up, I yelled right in dad's ear "Rugby World Cup!". (Tui's) Switching on the tv with extreme excitement, I waited for the whistle to blow. Ding, ding! (Riya's) My heart was beating until the All Blacks scored a try.  "Ohhh yeahh!!" we got a penalty. After a few minutes France scored one too. France got a yellow card for punching Richie in the face (fist to face).
(Cruze's)It was funny because my granddad was yelling at the tv.
